SUMMARY
The Outreach Programming Assistant will help the Director/Curator to develop, prepare, and execute workshops and programming at the Museum. These programs will benefit children, youth, adults, and seniors from varying community groups. The Outreach Programming Assistant will also have the opportunity to develop marketing materials for the outreach department, with the help of the Design Associate and Director/Curator to inform the community about upcoming and available programming offered at the Museum. The student will contribute to the Museum’s cultural development to be able to better provide educational programming about Sault Ste Marie culture and heritage. The Outreach Programming Assistant will conduct front-end evaluations and research to better target seniors with appropriate programming and workshops at the Museum.
Other duties include but are not limited to day to day operation of the Museum, stocking marketing material, interacting with various community groups and partners, taking admissions and ensuring all information is presented in a friendly, positive, and accurate manner.
NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS
Eligible candidates must be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment, be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment*; and, have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.
Post–secondary education and or/experience in the following fields is desirable: History, Education, Outreach, Community Services, Museum Studies, and related fields of study.

SUMMARY
The Archival & Collections Research Assistant will work with the Curatorial team to describe, catalogue, and digitize donated objects, archival materials and photographs to the Museum’s collection. The student will work with the Curatorial team to aid in the 2019 Collection Project in conducting additional research on artefacts and archival items within the Museum’s collection to be inputted into the Museum’s newly acquired collection management database. The student will be responsible for executing incoming research requests from the curatorial team, local history researchers, and community groups and members. The student will aid in the progression of curatorial/exhibition partnership project between the Soo Greyhounds and Museum focusing on local Sault Ste. Marie hockey history, as the project goes into its second year of existence. The student will aid the Curatorial team in conducting archival and collection based research as necessary for exhibition panel writing, artefact labeling, collection management database development, and research requests.

The use of computers and technology will be a large component of the Museum Services position. The Museum Services Assistant will also be responsible for opening and closing the Museum, ensuring that the front of house is tidy and organized, marketing materials are stocked, and visitors are presented with information of all the functions of the Museum.
